Get Rid Of Dark Spots And Acne Scars With Baking Soda And Lemon

Beauty / September 4, 2015

Acne affects people of all ages and although it is most common among teenagers, adult acne is real and more common than people think.

As a teenager, I never really had acne.  It wasn’t until my 30’s that I really began to break out.  According to Web MD, adult acne is caused by “stress or changes in your hormone levels, like switching or stopping birth control pills are possibilities.”

Baking Soda is gritty and is excellent for exfoliation.  A gentle scrub can remove bumps and rough patches; it can even skin tone and prevent buildup from clogging pores and causing breakouts. Like lemon juice, baking soda is mildly acidic; the combination of two mild acids can make for powerful homemade acne-fighting facial treatments.

With acne sometimes comes acne scars and if you are like me, you are always trying to find ways to get rid of them. I’ve heard many positive things about this face mask that I decided to give it a try.

What You will Need:

Small bowl

1/2 Fresh Lemons

1 or 2 tbsp of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (or any brand)

1 tbsp of Honey

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. You ought to end up with a paste-like consistency. If it is too runny, add a little more baking soda.
  2. Before apply, wash off all make-up, dirt, and debris using your regular face wash.
  3. Apply mixture on your with circular motions.
  4. Leave it on your skin for 10-20 minutes. You should feel a bit tingling and tightening of the mask.
  5. Remove mask with tepid water.
  6. Moisturize with your favorite moisturizer and remember to use a moisturizer with a SPF.

Use 2 to 3 times per week and Your skin will become less oily, the breakouts will disappear and acne scars will vanish.
