So you’ve been Friendzoned….Now what?

Dating & Relationships / March 16, 2015

We’ve all been there. Being placed into a box or rather a category that we don’t want to be in by someone we really like. Okay so maybe the two of you like each other, but your wants are not the same. You want a relationship, but he doesn’t. Or even vice versa. This situationship puts people in an awkward and sometimes uncomfortable position where you’re placed in the friend zone. The problem is that you really like this person and still want to remain friends, but at the same time you want more.  As a person who has experienced this once, being friendzoned can be disappointing, but it can also be very rewarding. Here’s my take on why this can be a good thing.

  1. You may soon realize that this person really isn’t someone you should be with. When you spend more time with someone as a friend, you begin to notice habits, attitudes, egos and behaviors that you probably didn’t notice before when you were pawning over him. These may eventually become turn offs for you.
  2. It opens doors for prospects. Being friendzoned is a serious eye opener that allows you to meet interesting guys that may be potentials.
  3. Now this point relates to my second point. When the person who has friendzoned you see that you have moved on from him and your eyes are focused on others, don’t be surprised if you see any subtle hints of jealousy peeking out of him.
  4. Time is your best friend. So he has placed you into the box and he wants to do him, but now you feel stuck. Sometimes it takes an eye opening experience from the man to see what he has in front of him.
  5. Sometimes it is best to remain just that – friends. Simply put some people mesh well as friends, but not as lovers.

So whether you have friendzoned someone or they friendzoned you, there are some good things that come out of it. If you happen to be the one that placed in that box, hopefully something good will come out of the experience.
