Kanye West Talks Amber Rose, Spoiling North West, The Kardashians and Being Ghetto

Entertainment & Celebrities / February 21, 2015

Kanye West, the arrogant asshole that we all love to hate, showed us that having a good public relations team can work wonders.

Mr West, stopped by The Breakfast Club Morning Show this morning and although he had some WTF did he say moments, he actually surprised me with what seemed to be a calmer, more humble Kanye West.

He discussed Tyga and his sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner, his wife’s “big ass” and the feud between his ex, Amber Rose and sister-in-law, Khloe Kardashian, The Grammy’s, Beyonce and parenting North West. Here are the highlights:

On being a hypocrite and dissing Beck at the Grammy’s:

“….that was completely hypocritical.

The other day I went out to dinner with Taylor Swift and ironically they were playing the Beck album in the background. I was like, “Man, this is kind of good. I ain’t gonna lie”

“…I hadn’t even heard it.”

“…I bet you that album was really good. I’m going to listen to that album.”

On Beyonce and Kim Kardashian:

“Nah, they love each other!  They respect each other. When Beyoncé’s working on an album, she has pictures of Kim on the wall because Kim represents powerful women. Kim be playing the [“7/11″] video for our daughter. They definitely respect each other. Maybe there’s a LeBron James-Kobe element to it. I didn’t say that.”

On Kim Kardashian not feeling him after he dated Amber Rose:

“If Kim had dated me when I first wanted to be with her, there wouldn’t be an Amber Rose. It’s very hard for a woman to wanna be with someone that’s with Amber Rose. I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim.”

On Tyga and Kyle ‘s Relationship:

“He got in early. He was smart.”

On his idea of being ghetto:

“I was going to London where I’m going tonight and I was in the first class line and it was real crowed and I looked over at the coach line for customs and it was completely empty.  We went over to the coach line and got through right away.  And everybody that was in the first class line and got through right away.  And everybody that was in the first class line with that Hermes belts and their big hats didn’t want to lower their class in order to get through faster.  When time is the only luxury.  Know what I’m saying.”

Charlamagne:  “It’s more ghetto?”

“Yeah, but ghetto is fun. I’m from Chicago.  My wife got a big ass.  Know what I’m saying?  We like ghetto.”

On spoiling North West:

“…Sweet William, they got these toys that my daughter got, Vanessa Beecroft, that did the fashion show, she bought my daughter 3 wolves and she saw…cause I would see toys that people would give her and I would be like, these toys is weak. She gotta have better toys than this. And sure enough, when she got these wolves from this toy store, she was going crazy.  This was the happiest I’ve ever seen her, right.  So of course, me, I’m going to go buy every single toy there and I was just having the conversation with my wife yesterday, like, okay, so, we can’t give her all these toys though.  We can’t just walk in and giver all these toys at once.  We are going to have to piece this out.  So, I am very conscientious about the idea of someone being spoiled.”

On North West’s name:

“Look at my daughter’s name.  That’s hip hop.”

On police brutality and why he didn’t speak out:

“Yeah, my dad emailed me and said stay out of it.  Now, my dad is like a thousand percent smarter than me and a thousand times more social than me. He like literally lived at a homeless shelter and he emailed me and told me to stay out of it—that’s my only parent so I have to listen to him sometimes.”

“I think he was just trying to be protective of his son. I can’t run in front of every bullet, you know. I just can’t run in front of every single bullet.”

On the movie Frozen:

“Thank you to Frozen.  That’s a second nanny.”

On losing friends after getting with Kim:

“When I said that in the interview, I was talking about “so-called friends.”

On beauty:

“Beauty is important.  If it wasn’t for beauty, my wife wouldn’t be so famous.”

On the Kardashians:

“They are all a successful family and all multi-millionaires.  One thing I think about with me is look how long it’s taken me to turn any of my friends into a multi millionaire. Kim did it like that.  She did it out the gate.. (snaps fingers)”

“Reality is like rap.  It’s so futuristic.  It;s the new, you know, my wife is a visionary…I don’t know anybody else that is so successful at what she’s doing as her.”

Is it just me, or is this the same Kim Kardashian who got famous by releasing a sex tape she did with Ray J? Or is that a different Kim. And that’s what makes her “cleaner” than Amber Rose? I’m so confused!!!!!!

Deborah, yes, it is the same person and I guess Kanye has selective memory because he seems to have forgotten, as well.

Let's Talk! I want to know what you think?
