Travel Is My Vibrator

Dating & Relationships / Travel / October 1, 2014

Travel is my vibrator. Exploring new cities is my passion. It’s one of the things that helps me keep my legs closed and uphold my vow to remain celibate until I get married. Is it easy? Nope. I’m a grown woman with a grown woman needs but my desire to please my God is stronger than my desire to get laid.

I’ve been celibate for years no, since 1999 to be exact. Being celibate in a world that is filled with sex isn’t easy (seriously, have you seen a commercial lately? EVERYTHING has sex in it). Thankfully I have many like-minded friends that support me and help me in this journey and I try to keep myself out of compromising situations.

I don’t read books filled with sex and I try my best to stay away from movies and TV shows that will stir that desire that I’m trying so hard to fight. Does that sound boring to you? It isn’t, not at all. The world is filled with so many different things to focus my attention on,

I just choose to focus on things that are going to uplift me, not lift up my skirt.

Traveling is a huge part of what helps me stay focused. When I feel my desires getting too great, I hop on a plane. When I’m traveling I have no desire to meet some strange man and have a quickie in my apartment rental. Nope, it never crosses my mind. Traveling and discovering new countries feeds my soul in ways that sex can’t, and until I get married it will have to be the medicine I use to quell the ache that sometimes tries to consume me.

My biblical beliefs are extremely important to me, and keeping true to my vow is of greatest importance. It may seem strange to some but to me, it’s crucial to my happiness that I fulfill my vow and honor my God. And I thank Him for allowing travel to be such a big part of helping me cope.

What do you do to keep your mind off of being celibate?

Is being celibate frowned upon nowadays?
