WE tv’s New Show, “Pregnant and Dating” Raises the Question, “Has Reality TV Gone Too Far?”

Entertainment & Celebrities / Parenting / Single Moms Talk / April 24, 2013

I have now heard it all! WE tv is set to air a new reality show called, Pregnant and Dating on June 1. The show follows 5 single pregnant women in Los Angeles and North Carolina who are on the hunt for love. This is a damn mess! Why would any woman who is single and pregnant let her focus at this time in her life be on “finding a man?” That should be the last thing that she should be worried about. Besides the fact, that you are making yourself look like a tramp…what type of man would be interested in dating a woman who is PREGNANT and PREGNANT WITH SOMEONE ELSE’S BABY! I swear, reality tv has gone a little too far this time but I guess it goes to show that some people will do anything for a couple of dollars.

A new reality show focuses on five single moms-to-be who are on the lookout for love.

Pregnant & Dating, which is set to air on WE tv on June 1, follows Kiesha, Shana, Melissa, Megan and Rachel as they hit the dating scene with their ever-growing baby bumps.

A press release for the eight-part series, filmed in Los Angeles and North Carolina, states: ‘Not even pregnancy will keep these women “out of the game”.’

Each hour-long installment focuses on the drama that ensues when the group of expectant mothers embark on their quest for Mr Right.

The release explains that their ‘slew’ of dates are ‘both rocky and redeeming.’

Some of have the support of their family and friends while others choose to keep their news secret.

Kiesha, an R&B producer based in Los Angeles, got pregnant with a man who she describes as ‘just a friend’. He has no idea that she is carrying his baby.

TV is not the problem, it is the people that appear on and watch that is the problem. If there was not a market for this madness, then they would not put this trash out. This is as embarrassing as the women who go on Maury multiple times. As Blacks we should be ashamed that our people are on these shows. When was the last time you saw an Asian woman partake in this type of madness? We should demand better from our people that are on these shows and that watch them.

I couldn’t agree more. There really doesn’t seem to be any shame in anything anymore. It is a very sad state of affairs

It is amazing to me that these women have smiles on their faces. How could they be happy about not having a father in their child’s life and now they are looking to get a fill in? They need to sit down, focus on being a good mom first and then worry about their love life later. It is obvious their “man picker” is broken so they may need to sit out a few rounds. Truly sad.
