Is Being a Bad Bitch Something to be Proud of?

From the Editor / March 21, 2013

Bad Bitches…so many women today want to be known an addressed as such.  On any given day, with the switch of your remote, you can find women and I use the word women loosely in this context, screaming at one another, what a Bad Bitch she is and how the next chick is not as bad as her or is “not about this life.”  It is so bad that there is now jewelry that screams to the world, “Bad Bitch!”  When I first say these pieces of jewelry, I had to wonder, what type of woman would actually wear a piece of jewelry proclaiming to the world that she is indeed a “Bad Bitch?”

Did I miss the memo that said that being a Bad Bitch was a badge of honor?  Is that the “goal” nowadays…to be a Bad Bitch?  I am very confused with the whole concept and I wonder how much does a Bad Bitch make these days and what the job market looks like for said, Bad Bitches.  Maybe this is a question that you Bad Bitches out there can answer for me.  In the meantime, this video by smoke4real breaks down what and who a Bad Bitch is.  If you consider yourself to be a Bad Bitch before watching this video, I hope you reconsider your self value and the title that you have given yourself , after watching.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE POEM?

WAS HE POINT WITH HIS VIEWS OF BAD BITCHES?

DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A BAD BITCH?

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A BAD BITCH?

IS BEING CALLED A BAD BITCH A BADGE OF HONOR OR SHAME?

Brother is an excellent poet/orator. But shallow people would foolishly dismiss him because of the outer image he projects.

Some women see it better to by a rich man’s WHORE, than a poor man’s WIFE, and I don’t blame them. Mate sharing works for some.

And some women see marriage better than being a mistress, but they are usually already married to power & wealth.

The point he eloquently made is that a lot of “bad bitches” are pathetic & frankly lost. Then try to delusionally cover up.

Dumb followers, instead of leading themselves into the arms of people who will give them true fulfillment. *Shrugs*

And then become bitter becky’s later.

You hit the nail on the head with your comment, Adonis. There are a LOT of women who are happy being a mistress. It is no secret that the majority of women would like to be married to a rich man or at least someone who they don;t have to struggle with, however, you have to ensure as a woman that you are “wife” material. Too many chicks are falling into what society, or should I say pop culture, is telling them that should be…a bad bitch. Reality shows are not “real” life and the sooner chicks stop believing and following what rappers and their videos portray them as and conduct themselves as strong women, the better.

Leonard, you are correct. I am not sure when it became acceptable to even own the title “bitch.” It as never meant to be used in as a form of flattery, yet so many women answer to it, call one another one and strive to be one. Such a shame!

I cringed at the beginning of these poem. I’m not with the badd bitch nor the “n” word. That mess is only acceptable to the immature and wayward. Not digging it. I appreciate the poem.

Yes, this poem is not for the weak, however, he does pose some very valid points!

I liked the poem a lot. And I think he made a lot of excellent points. I believe a lot of women nowadays are selling themselves short and not getting what they deserve. I also LOVED the fact that he briefly alluded to the distinction between real niggas and real men because black men also sell themselves short aiming to be real niggas instead of real fathers, real leaders, or real husbands. The moral of the story is, we gotta Love ourselves more. But how does one know his or her worth if he or she doesn’t know who they are and where they come from? We’re growing up without mothers, fathers, and role models. Black people identify with the labels bad bitches and real niggas because those are the people who seem to have the things that we want–at least on the surface. There’s fewer and fewer people to look up to.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Where is our focus as a people? We seem to focus on material things and the outwards appearance then on things that are more important, i.e., integrity, respect, loyalty, etc. in return for having a big ass, a fly car, etc. We have to get it together or the next generation will be doomed

No bitch over here bad or otherwise. I don’t get the fascination. What’s wrong with just being a lady?

    on April 17, 2013

I don’t know, why women don’t want to be known as a lady anymore? It baffles me!
