Tameka Raymond has been granted an emergency custody hearing after son, Usher Raymond V, nearly drowns while in the care of her ex-husband, Usher Raymond on Monday.
I guess you really can’t blame Tameka, for moving quickly to have her attorneys petition the court for an emergency custody hearing to regain custody of her 2 children citing that Usher is not caring for their children himself but leaving them in the care of others because he is traveling 85% of the time. According to TMZ, she “filed the docs in Fulton County, Georgia, claiming that Usher is abdicating his parental responsibilities by letting other people care for their 2 children–people who she claims are not on the ball.”
She is seeking decision-making power over the children’s healthcare, religion, education and extracurricular activities.
Usher Raymond V, nearly drowned when he got his arm caught in the pool drain under the care of Usher’s aunt. He is now said to be recovering in intensive care.
Now as a mother, especially one who just lost a son last year, I understand her fear of losing another child and the helplessness she must feel in that she lost custody of sons to Usher last year, as well. Not sure how all of this will pan out for her but the hearing is set for Friday at 2pm ET.
What do you think?
Is Tameka moving too fast to petition the court for custody of her kids?
How would YOU handle this situation if you were in her shoes?
