Single mom of 3 and former “Beverly Hills 902010” television star recalls her days of growing up in a frugal family and how today, as a single mom and actress, her “upbringing certainly influenced my relationship with money.” In her debut blog post on the coupon website, RetaillMeNot.com, as their Real Deal Blogger, she opens up and reveals just how down to earth she really is. She says that she doesn’t have a maid nor butler and that she makes breakfast for her girls every morning.
I love the fact that she is very hands on with her children, as she describes in her blog and like many of us, single moms, she values saving money and is always on the lookout for a good deal. She expresses the sentiment of every single mom out there when she said, “…now more than ever, every dollar I bring home, or manage to save, means more safety and security for my family and our future.”
Here’s an excerpt of her post…
“As a newly single mom of three, I’m trying to juggle everything: my kids, my career and, if I’m lucky, some sort of personal life. Every day, I get up and make breakfast for my girls.
I sit on the rug during story time at my daughter’s school; I make costumes for the first grade play; I contribute to the potlucks. Every minute is precious, and now more than ever, every dollar I bring home, or manage to save, means more safety and security for my family and our future.
When you’re a single parent, finding a bargain becomes less of a nicety and more of a necessity. That’s why, whether I’m ordering books on Amazon, clothes for my girls at Forever 21 or just random stuff at CVS, I try to shop smart. Please follow me on my journey all year long right here at retailmenot.com/blog. I promise to share all of my best bargain finds, some so fine I’m sure even Kelly Taylor would approve.”
